Their Story
Charles, my husband, dedicated 24 1/2 years to the Army National Guard. He did 2 tours overseas and did numerous state side assignments. He was an incredible leader, leading by example and hard work. He was always the first one to step in if a fellow soldier needed help. He kept his soldiers organized and well-trained. He did all of this while maintaining his roles as husband and dad.
“Charles was overseas on his second tour, when I went into labor with our first child. He just happened to call me just after my water broke. He was able to call several times throughout my labor ( it was a long labor). He also called just as our son was being born and was able to hear his very first cries. He was then able to fly home for his 2-week leave.”
