Their Story

Growing up in Virginia & VMI, Ellsworth always wanting to be a soldier. In 1972 he volunteered for the US Army. Went to basic training at Ft Jackson, SC, AIT at Ft Benning, GA for Radio Mechanic's School and Airborne Jump School. Later sent to Ft Ord CA to transportation school where he was a driver for the base CMDR, Maj. Gen. Gard at the Presidio of Monterey. He served in Germany, Thailand, Ft Meade, MD and Ft Sill, OK in Communications and as Operations Sargent, In-Processing at Ft Sill.

“Most importantly, all the people he met along the way and the comradery of his brothers and sisters, then and now. It is never lost with him that many who he came to know did not return home while he got an opportunity to travel the world. He carries this with him still.
He is very proud and honored to have served his country.”
