Their Story

I served in S Korea on the DMZ. I was assigned to the HHQ 1st of the 9th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division. I was in the Recon Platoon which was the Battalion Strike Force. We were on notice 24/7. We slept with our boots on and rifles loaded. Our unit was stationed at the entrance to Panmunjom. I served 14 months in S Korea. After serving in the Recon Platoon I was transferred to Battalion S3 as a clerk.
