Marvin Albert Gehrking — United in Service Tribute
Portrait of Marvin Albert Gehrking

Marvin Albert Gehrking

U.S. Army 1952 - 1954 Korean War
Specialist 3rd Class

Their Story

We honor Marvin (Dad) for his service during and after the Korean War. He trained at Fort Leonard Wood, MO with Company A - 50th Armored Infantry Battalion - 6th Armored Division. He was later assigned to the Third Armor Division (Spearhead) in Company A - 83rd Reconnaissance Battalion and as an airborne infantryman - 11th Airborne Division.
In 1991 Marvin succumbed, in part, to the stresses of reintegration after service. He had a big heart, kind soul, and a big smile. He is forever missed.

“He always had time for children and they loved being around him. He had room in his heart for all of them.”
