Their Story

I am honoring myself because for most of my military career I was never able to be proud of my service. Most of it was because of family opinions, but the other part was because of all I went through while I was in the Army. I had a lot of accomplishments down played or taken away from me by toxic leadership and was never recognized when I retired after almost 23 years of service as a First Sergeant. I am finally able to be proud of what I did in the Army and want to recognize my sacrifice.

“My favorite duty assignment was being an instructor at the RTI at Ft. McCoy, WI. I loved molding the minds of brand new medics by messing with them during lanes trainings and different scenarios. The scenarios are always fun when you put medics, infrantrymen and dirty truck drivers together. I also instructed the medic recert course, which was always filled with a lot of laughs and memorable experiences, because what's better than an unconscious patient? "An unconscious trauma naked patient!"”
