Timothy Kummet
Their Story
CW2 Kummet served from the end of the Cold War through the Iraq War. His electrical knowledge and safety expertise helped save soldier's lives. Improving electrical installations on combat outposts (COPs) and joint service (JSS) stations throughout Baghdad and the Multinational Corp (MN-C).
“Many near misses where improper installations could have lead to an IED equivalent explosion on COPs and JSSs.
Dispatched from base to connect with a helicopter leaving Camp Victory at 2300 so that Chief Kummet could get into a convoy leaving at 0500 for the COP or JSS.
In one of the convoys I was in a Buffalo of one of the requesting Battalions, where they sent us into a hostile area (an active attack) where Battalion information was not dissiminated down to boots on the ground.”
